Yugoslavia signs the Kumanovo Agreement; NATO halts its bombs after 78 days
After 78 days of NATO bombing, Yugoslav and Serbian forces were running out of options. On June 9, 1999, military representatives of NATO's Kosovo Force and the governments of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and Serbia signed the Kumanovo Agreement in Kumanovo, Macedonia, committing Yugoslav troops to a staged withdrawal from Kosovo over eleven days.
